1 Foreword

JB/T 7018-2008 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 12 March 2008 and has been in force since 1 September 2008.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 7018-1993.

2 Scope

This standard is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard that sets safety rules for overhead electrical monorail conveyors. It defines the terminology and then gives general safety rules and special safety rules for these conveyors. The rules address monorail overhead conveyors used to move materials; manually driven and gravity-driven overhead conveyors, other general overhead conveyors, and systems carrying people fall outside its field of application. It is a modified adoption of ISO 9851-1990, carries Chinese classification J81 and international classification 53.040.10, and replaces JB/T 7018-1993. Among the standards it quotes are GB 11341, GB 50254, GB 50257, JB/T 5317 and JB/T 9008.1.
