JB/T 20020-2004 is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for rotary tablet presses used in pharmaceutical production. It sets out the terms and definitions, the classification and model marking, the requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules for the press, and closes with the provisions on signs, instruction brochure, packaging and storage. Its scope is the continuously rotating type of tablet press, limited to machines whose turret die-hole centre line speed stays below 60 m/min. The text quotes GB/T 191, GB/T 1184-1996, GB/T 1800.4-1999, GB/T 3766, GB 5226.1-2002, GB/T 6388, GB/T 7935, GB/T 9969.1, GB/T 13306, GB/T 13384 and GB/T 16769. It took the place of the earlier medical device standard YY 0221-1995. It was issued on 1 January 2004.
