JB/T 13399.2-2018 is part 2 of a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on wide and heavy plate roughing mills, and it carries the general technical specifications for them. A roughing mill is the first rolling stand a slab meets on a plate line, and this part states the technical requirements for such machines together with the test methods, the acceptance rules and the provisions for marking, packaging, transport and storage. It is classified H94 and 77.180. Much of its supporting detail is handed to the JB/T 5000 series of general specifications for heavy machinery, which it quotes extensively, along with GB/T 1504 and GB/T 1800.2-2009. Issued on 30 April 2018, it has applied since 1 December 2018.
