HG/T 4860-2015 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for methanol-to-light-olefins catalysts. It lays down the requirements for the catalyst, the test methods and the inspection rules, together with the provisions for marking, packaging, storage and transport. What it covers is the solid catalyst used in the methanol to olefins process, commonly abbreviated MTO, in which methanol is turned into light olefins. Its classification places it with catalysts for the chemical industry, under the Chinese code G75 and the international classification 71.100.99. The standard works alongside GB/T 191, GB/T 6678, GB/T 8170, HG/T 4861-2015 and HG/T 4862-2015. Issued on 14 July 2015, it has applied since 1 January 2016.
