HG/T 4607-2014 is the recommended chemical industry standard for optical grade polyester film, in the pre-primed polyethylene terephthalate form. The film it describes is made from PET as raw material, melt extruded and biaxially oriented, with a primer layer coated beforehand on one or on both surfaces. The standard states the requirements for such film and the test methods used to check them. Its references include GB/T 191, GB/T 2410, GB/T 25255 and GB/T 25273, together with ASTM D1894 and ASTM D3359. The Chinese classification is G15 and the international one 71.080.99. Issued on 6 May 2014, it has applied since 1 October 2014.
