Scope
GB/T 37193-2018 is the English-translated version of 光学功能薄膜 聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)薄膜 萃取率测定方法.
GB/T 37193-2018 gives a method for determining the extraction rate of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, an optical functional film, by extracting it with an organic solvent.
It defines the extraction rate as the percentage of the mass extracted from the material by the solvent relative to the mass of the material before extraction, which can be taken from the mass difference.
The method uses a Soxhlet extractor made up of a heating source, an extraction bottle, an extraction tube and a condenser tube; the heating source reaches 250 °C and holds within ±1 °C once stable, and the extraction bottle holds at least 1000 mL.
It refers to GB/T 2918 for the standard conditioning and testing environment of plastic samples. It applies to PET film. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the extraction rate of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film using organic solvents.
This standard applies to PET film.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only dated versions apply to this document. For undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.
Standard environment for GB/T 2918 plastic sample conditioning and testing
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Extraction rate
The percentage of the mass of the solvent extracted from the material and the mass of the material prior to extraction.
Note: The mass of the extracted material can be calculated from the difference in mass before and after the material is extracted.
4 Instruments and reagents
4.1 Soxhlet extractor
As shown in Figure 1, it includes. heating source, extraction bottle, extraction tube and condenser tube, and should meet the following requirements.
a) Heating source. the maximum temperature is 250 °C, and the temperature fluctuates ±1 °C after stabilization;
b) Extraction bottle. volume >= 1000mL;
c) The size and interface diameter of the extraction and condensing tubes should be matched with the extraction bottle.
