HG/T 4207-2011 is the Chinese chemical industry standard that sets out the plate count method for the examination of heterotrophic bacteria in industrial circulating cooling water. It describes how the count is carried out, so that the bacterial population of a cooling circuit can be measured on a common basis. The method is written for industrial circulating cooling water, and it also serves for the determination of heterotrophic bacteria in raw water, domestic water and other waters. Preparation of standard solutions follows GB/T 603 and laboratory water follows GB/T 6682, the two documents it quotes. It carries Chinese classification G76 and ICS 13.060.70, and was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Issued on 20 December 2011, it has applied since 1 July 2012.
