HG/T 3985-2007 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for polytetrafluoroethylene bellows expansion joints. It gives the terms and definitions, the classification and designation, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions for marking, labelling, packaging, transport and storage. It covers joints whose wetted parts are of PTFE, with nominal pressure PN below 1.6 MPa and nominal size from DN 25 mm to DN 1000 mm, working between -50 °C and 180 °C and fitted to take up pipeline movement by flexible compensation. The media allowed include sulfuric, hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids at various concentrations, benzene, alkalis, aqua regia, organic solvents and corrosive or reducing gases and liquids. It quotes GB/T 9122-2000, GB/T 9124-2000 and GB/T 2828.1-2003. Issued on 22 September 2007, it has applied since 1 April 2008.
