HG/T 3825-2006 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for sodium hydroxide made from natural soda by the causticizing process. It sets the requirements for the product and covers sampling, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety. It applies to caustic soda produced by causticizing trona, and to sodium hydroxide produced by recovering and using the mother liquor from sodium bicarbonate manufacture. Its analytical and handling provisions call on GB/T 4348.1, GB/T 4348.2 and GB/T 4348.3, on GB/T 603, GB/T 1250, GB/T 6678, GB/T 6679, GB/T 6680 and GB/T 6682, and on GB 190, GB/T 191 and GB/T 15915. Issued on 26 July 2006, it has applied since 1 March 2007.
