Scope

HG/T 3383-2003 is the English-translated version of 硝基漆防潮剂.

The moisture-proofing agent for nitrocellulose lacquer is the subject of HG/T 3383-2003, a recommended standard of the Chinese chemical industry. It lays down the requirements for the agent along with the test methods, the inspection rules and the rules on marking, packaging and storage. The agent it deals with is a mixture of organic solvents of high boiling point and slow evaporation, drawn from the esters, alcohols and ketones. It is used together with nitrocellulose lacquer thinner when the lacquer is applied in a hot environment, so that the film does not turn white. It quotes GB/T 1250. The 1987 edition, HG/T 3383-1987, is superseded. Issued on 9 January 2004, it has applied since 1 May 2004.
