HG/T 3311-2009 is the Chinese chemical industry standard describing how the thermal stability of poly(vinyl chloride) resin is measured by absorbing in water the hydrogen chloride that the resin gives off on heating. It applies to the determination of the thermal stability of PVC resins and belongs to the plastics group of the chemical catalogue (Chinese classification G32). The reagents and standard solutions follow GB/T 601 and GB/T 603, the water used is that of GB/T 6682, and GB/T 3864 is called up as well. The method replaces the much older HG/T 3311-1980. Issued on 4 December 2009, it has applied since 1 June 2010.
