HG/T 2866-2016 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for rubber fenders, the hollow rubber bodies that protect quays and vessels. It gives the classification and designation of fenders and then their requirements, test methods and inspection rules, followed by marking, packaging, transport and storage. Its subject is the compressive hollow rubber fender, which absorbs the impact of a berthing ship by changing shape; an appendix carries the requirements for a further fender type. The mechanical and ageing checks are run to GB/T 528, GB/T 531.1, GB/T 3512, GB/T 7759, GB/T 7760 and GB/T 7762. The standard replaces HG/T 2866-2003. Issued on 15 January 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
