HG/T 2477-2016 is the English-translated version of 砂磨机用机械密封技术条件.

HG/T 2477-2016 is a recommended Chinese chemical industry standard covering the mechanical seals fitted to closed sand mills. It specifies the marking of the seal, the requirements it must meet, the rules for its installation and use, the testing to be performed, and the marking and packaging of the finished unit.

It is written for horizontal sand mills with shaft diameters of 30 mm to 120 mm and for vertical mills with spindle diameters of 20 mm to 200 mm, where the mill medium pressure is not greater than 0.4 MPa, the seal chamber temperature stays below 80 °C and the shaft speed does not exceed 10 m/s.

Tolerance and fit practice is taken from GB/T 1184, GB/T 1801, GB/T 14211 and JB/T 4127.1. It replaces HG/T 2477-2004. Issued on 15 January 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
