HG/T 2456.3-2015 carries Part 3 of the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for aluminium pigments for paints, the part given over to polymer-coated aluminium paste. It classifies the product and states its requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage. The paste it describes starts from atomised aluminium powder that is wet-milled with a polymer surface treatment agent and an organic solvent, after which organic compounds bearing active groups react to coat the flake aluminium particles; the pigment goes mainly to the coatings industry. Its methods come from GB/T 1725, GB/T 1766, GB/T 3186, GB/T 6682, GB/T 6890, GB/T 8170, GB/T 9271, GB/T 9274 and GB/T 20975.3, GB/T 20975.5 and GB/T 20975.8, with HG/T 2456.1-2013 applying alongside it. Issued on 14 July 2015, it has applied since 1 January 2016.
