HG/T 20229-2017 is the Chinese chemical industry code for the construction and acceptance of anticorrosive engineering on chemical equipment and pipelines. It fixes terminology and basic provisions, metal surface pretreatment, brick lining, rubber lining, fibre reinforced plastic lining, plastic lining, anti-corrosion coating, glass lining, metal thermal spraying, lead lining, sprayed polyurea lining and neoprene mortar lining, together with cathodic protection, safety and environmental protection requirements and the requirements for handover with the project. It applies to anti-corrosion work on steel and cast iron equipment and pipelines in chemical, coal chemical and petrochemical construction projects. The code supersedes HGJ 229-1991. It was issued on 12 April 2017 and came into force on 1 October 2017.
