Scope

GB/Z 44582-2024 is the English-translated version of 家用和类似用途面包片电烘烤器 提高可达性测试方法.

GB/Z 44582-2024 is a guiding technical document rather than a mandatory standard, aimed at making household and similar electric toasters easier to use for older people and people with disabilities.

It gathers the sources of accessibility advice, including user characteristics and body measurements, then sets out an accessibility assessment built on the tasks a user has to perform, rules for measurement accuracy of linear dimensions, angles, force, torque and reflectance, and a test procedure covering printing, labelling and displays, accompanying information such as instructions for use, mechanical parts, controls, feedback, markings on the appliance and packaging.

It does not deal with safety requirements and does not cover toasters for professional use. The document applies ISO/TR 22411 and ISO/IEC Guide 71 to toasters and is a modified (MOD) adoption of IEC TS 62835:2015. It was issued on 29 September 2024.
