Scope

GB/Z 42962-2023 is the English-translated version of 产业帮扶 猪产业项目运营管理指南.

This document gives guidance on running a pig farming project set up as industrial assistance: how the operation is organised and managed, and what has to be in place for it to survive on its own terms. Pig farming is the most consequential agricultural activity in China and the most volatile: the hog cycle swings prices by a factor of two, and African swine fever showed how fast a herd can be lost. A poverty-alleviation project built on pigs is therefore exposed in ways a bamboo plantation is not, and the management guidance has to account for that. Issued on 6 August 2023 by SAMR and SAC as a guiding technical document, in force from the same day. Part of the same industrial assistance group as GB/Z 42963 on bamboo and GB/Z 42993 on flowers.
