Scope
GB/Z 25842.2-2012 is the English-translated version of 低压开关设备和控制设备 过电流保护电器 第2部分:过电流条件下的选择性.
GB/Z 25842.2-2012 is the Chinese national guidance document, identical to IEC/TR 61912-2:2009, on selectivity between over-current protective devices in low-voltage switchgear and controlgear.
After defining the relevant terms, it explains the extent of selectivity requirements, including motor protection circuit breakers and manual motor starters, and how selectivity is determined when a circuit breaker or a fuse is the upstream device.
Further clauses deal with residual current devices, zone selective interlocking and over-current protection relays, while annexes give examples of selectivity levels between circuit breakers and discuss steady loads in the overload region.
Other forms of protection, such as reverse power, directional and arc protection systems, are not considered. It is Part 2 of GB/Z 25842. Issued on 5 November 2012, it has applied since 5 November 2012.

Foreword
GB /Z 25842 "low-voltage switchgear and control equipment over-current protection electrical" is divided into two parts.
--- Part 1. The application of short-circuit fixed;
--- Part 2. Over-current conditions of selectivity. This Guidance Document is Part 2 of GB /Z 25842.
This instructional document has been drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Guidance Document is equivalent to IEC /T R61912-2.2009 "Low-voltage switchgear and control equipment over-current protection device 2 Part. Over-current conditions of selectivity. " Our document, which corresponds in a consistent manner to the international documents that are normative references in this Guidance Document, is as follows.
--- GB 14048.1 low-voltage switchgear and control equipment Part 1. General (IEC 60947-1:2007, MOD)
--- GB 14048.4-2010 low-voltage switchgear and control equipment Part 4-1. Contactor and motor starter motor Contactor and motor starter (including motor protectors) (IEC 60947-4-1:2009, MOD)
--- GB 16916.1-2003 Residual current operated circuit breakers (RCCB) for household and similar purposes without overcurrent protection Part 1. General rules (IEC 61008-1:1996, MOD)
--- GB 16917.1-2003 Residual current operated circuit breakers (RCBO) with overcurrent protection for household and similar purposes No. 1 Section. General rules (IEC 61009-1:1996, MOD)
The following editorial changes have been made to this technical document.
--- Remove the foreword of the international standard;
--- Remove 3.1 international standards in the 3.1 term index;
--- "This report" be changed to "the guidance of technical documents";
--- Reference document IEC /T R61459 "Fuse and contactor/motor starter coordinated use of Guide" and IEC /T R61818 "Low-voltage Fuse Application Guide" instead quoted IEC 60269-5:2010 "Low-voltage Fuse Application Guide."
The guidance of technical documents by the National Standardization Technical Committee of low-voltage electrical (SAC/TC189) centralized.
1 Scope
This guidance document defines the definitions of terms.
