Scope
GB/T 9956-2011 is the English-translated version of 青鱼鱼苗、鱼种.
GB/T 9956-2011 is the Chinese national standard for the fry and fingerlings of black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus). It defines the two life stages, states where the seed may come from, and sets the quality requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules used to judge a batch.
Fry must come from artificially bred broodstock meeting GB/T 5055 or from natural river fishing, and fingerlings from fry that meet the same rules. Appearance is judged on a sample: at least 95% of the fry must match the definition and look translucent and glossy, and at least 90% must be able to swim against the current.
Character determination follows GB/T 18654.3, and an informative annex covers the common diseases of black carp. It replaces GB/T 9956-1988, was issued on 21 November 2011 and has applied since 1 March 2012.
