Scope
GB/T 9776-2022 is the English-translated version of 建筑石膏.
GB/T 9776-2022 is the Chinese national product standard for calcined gypsum, the powdery binder obtained by calcining and dehydrating natural or industrial by-product gypsum with no admixtures or additives.
It fixes the classification and designation, raw materials, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and the packaging, marking, transport and storage, with requirements for composition, for physical and mechanical properties including the dry strength index new to this edition, for radionuclide limits, for restricted constituents and for pH, plus an appendix on determining the water-soluble chloride ion content.
Its foreword states that the fineness index was dropped. It applies to building gypsum made from natural gypsum, flue gas desulfurization gypsum and phosphogypsum, while gypsum from other industrial by-product gypsum may refer to it.
It replaces GB/T 9776-2008, was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 July 2023.
