Scope

GB/T 9649.9-2009 is the English-translated version of 地质矿产术语分类代码 第9部分:结晶学及矿物学.

GB/T 9649.9-2009 is Part 9 of the GB/T 9649 series, which splits the terminology of geology and mineral resources into 35 parts, and it covers crystallography and mineralogy.

It classifies and codes data on mineral genesis, morphology, physical properties as seen by the naked eye, chemical composition, the classification and naming of minerals, crystal chemistry and geometrical crystallography.

It states the classification principles, the rules for choosing terms, the coding method - generally four levels written with capital Latin letters - and how the codes are used and managed, with the classification code table itself and a normative Annex A on where each subject belongs.

Chinese geological information systems use it to fix database structures and data dictionaries. It replaces GB/T 9649.9-1998, was issued on 15 October 2009 and has applied since 1 December 2009.

This section Part 9 GB/T 9649, and instead of GB/T 9649.9-1998 "terminology classification codes of geology and mineral resources and crystallography mineralogy".

Section compared with the GB/T 9649.9-1998, major changes in the following.

--- According to GB/T 1.1-2000 standard modifications;

--- Added 311 kinds of minerals, the Geological Society of China by the Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry under the new Minerals and Mineral Names professionals Industry Committee;

--- Fixed GB/T 9649.9-1998 existing problems.

This section of Appendix A normative appendix.

1 Scope

This section provides the genesis, morphology, physical properties of minerals (focus on the identification of the naked eye), chemical composition, classification and minerals and crystals Embryology, and other geometric crystallography crystallography and mineralogy data classification and codes.

This section applies to all types of geology and mineral resources information system is to determine the standard system database and data dictionary, the development of various types of geological data File format standard basic standards.

2 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this section.

2.1 Terminology

Reflect the basic properties of the upper and terminology concepts geological entities.

2.2 Qualitative description

The basic properties of geological entity specific qualitative description of the term.

3 Classification principles

Compiled in accordance with section 3.1 easy to use and easy to minimize redundant code but leave room for expansion of the principles, the use of faceted classification, geological science Divided into 35 subject categories, and strict demarcation maintain the overall systemic, integrity, avoid duplication of content and cross.

3.2 The following three-stage tree classification categories, classes, subclasses, the basic data item name. Each subject content varying levels, it may be less than three, in Coding capacity under the conditions allowed, it can be divided to four.

3.3 classification levels of scientific, systematic and versatility.

4 Principles choice of words

4.1 Word Choice objects. all kinds of items may be used as a database of geology and mineral resources (including selected data items from the upper sense classification concept) To use the terminology of terminology, qualitative description and text data item values. Selected term agreement with the existing relevant national standards, as far as possible reference According to the current geological work practices.

As data item 4.2, the term is unique in this standard. Where synonym indicated in the description field, to prepare for reference.

4.3 the choice of words to be simple, clear and unambiguous. Give full consideration to the need to establish a database.

4.4 To ensure that "terminology classification codes of geology and mineral resources," the holistic, systematic, avoid duplicate content in basic disciplines are included, the application of science Branch no longer opt-emerging disciplines and interdisciplinary select only its unique content. For a description of the scope of the choice of words classification home in Appendix A.

4.5 appropriate opt-discipline development that reflect the new direction, a new level terms.

4.6 For ease of use, the individual frequently used items can be repeated in different disciplines, but use Unicode, to ensure the code Uniqueness. Text in different data items may have a small amount of duplicate values.

5 Coding method

5.1 More than six items using the Latin alphabet (uppercase) coding is generally divided into four levels. Structure is as follows
