Scope

GB/T 8506-2008 is the English-translated version of 平地机 试验方法.

China's national test methods for graders. A motor grader is the machine that produces a finished surface - the road subgrade, the airfield, the levelled site - and it does so with a long blade slung between its axles that can be angled, tilted, rotated and shifted sideways, which is why it has more degrees of freedom in its working equipment than any other earthmoving machine. Testing one is therefore not simply a matter of power and speed. What determines whether a grader is any good is the precision and stability of the blade under load: the machine's frame flexes, the articulated ones flex at the hinge, and any of that appears in the surface as a wave. The reliability half of the programme matters equally, since a grader works long hours on abrasive material and its circle and drawbar wear. The standard specifies the test methods for grader performance and reliability, and applies to both rigid frame and articulated frame graders.

Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 8506-1987 "Grader performance test method", GB/T 16278-1996 "Grader Reliability Test side Law "and GB/T 14782-1993" Grader technical conditions "part. This standard and GB/T 8506-1987 and GB/T 16278-1996, the following changes.

--- The GB/T 8506-1987, GB/T 16278-1996 and GB/T 14782-1993 (part) combined in one standard Registration, content re-adjust the layout;

--- Measurement accuracy, mass and center of gravity measurements, speed, braking performance, traction performance, the size of the steering, the driver operating device driver Vision, noise and emissions requirements directly pressing the corresponding provisions of the standard;

--- Increased forward and reverse audible alarm sounds, surveillance mirrors and rear-view mirror, Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS), ROPS (ROPS), cab environment, lighting, signs and signal lights and reflectors and other tests, measured according to the corresponding standards for direct Regulations;

--- Delete definitions of terms of reliability, directly JB/T 51099;

--- Test method for increasing the job content;

--- Increase in front axle drive content. The Standard Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C are normative appendix. The standard proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation. This standard specifies the grader performance and reliability of the test method. This standard applies to whole or hinged frame grader.
