Scope

GB/T 8423.2-2018 is the English-translated version of 石油天然气工业术语 第2部分:工程技术.

GB/T 8423.2-2018 is Part 2 of the six-part GB/T 8423 terminology for the petroleum and natural gas industries, and defines terms specific to engineering and technical services.

It applies to oil and gas engineering technical services, and other areas of the industry may use it for reference.

The terms are grouped by discipline: drilling engineering, from general drilling terms, pre-drilling work and drilling tools to directional and core drilling, drilling fluid, well pressure control, downhole faults, cementing and completion and offshore drilling; petroleum geophysics, including seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation and borehole geophysics; oil logging, from electrical, radioactive, nuclear magnetic resonance and sonic logging to production logging, perforation and sidewall coring; and completion fluid.

An index closes the document. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

Foreword

GB/T 8423 "oil and gas industry terminology" is divided into six parts.

--- Part 1. Exploration and development;

--- Part 2. Engineering Technology;

--- Part 3. Oil and gas ground engineering;

--- Part 4. Oil and gas measurement and analysis;

--- Part 5. Equipment and materials;

--- Part 6. Safety, environmental protection and energy saving.

This part is the second part of GB/T 8423.

This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 8423 defines terms and definitions specific to engineering and technical services for the oil and gas industry.

This section applies to the oil and gas engineering technical service field, and other areas of the oil and gas industry can be used for reference.

2 Drilling Engineering

2.1 General Survey of Drilling

2.1.1 Drilling

Using a rock breaking tool and matching technology, equipment and technology to form a circular wellbore with a certain axis trajectory shape from the surface to the ground Construction and operation.

2.1.2 Well

A cylinder with a certain depth drilled in the stratum for the purpose of exploration and development of underground resources such as oil and gas and access to underground information. Shaped holes.

2.1.3 Wellbore

Wellbore

Well body

The whole of a well.

2.1.4 Well wall

The cylindrical inner wall of the wellbore.

2.1.5 Well section

A section of the wellbore.

2.1.6 Open hole

Well sections that are not sealed with casing, screens, and other measures.

2.1.7 Well depth
