Scope
GB/T 7739.8-2022 is the English-translated version of 金精矿化学分析方法 第8部分:硫量的测定.
GB/T 7739.8-2022 is the Chinese national method for determining sulfur and available sulfur in gold concentrates.
Its contents list gives three methods, each with its own principle, reagents, apparatus, sample, procedure, data processing, precision and test report: barium sulfate gravimetry, combustion-neutralisation titration, and combustion-neutralisation titration for available sulfur.
In the gravimetric method the sample is semi-fused at 780 °C with a mixed flux of sodium carbonate, zinc oxide and potassium permanganate, the solubles are taken up in water, the sulfate is precipitated with barium chloride, and the precipitate is filtered, ignited and weighed; less than 10 mg of fluorine in the tested material does not interfere.
It covers mass fractions from 5.00 % to 50.00 %. It replaces GB/T 7739.8-2007, was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 July 2023.

a) Delete the requirement of "allowable difference" (see 2.6, 3.7 of the 2007 edition);
b) The amount of mixed solvents used in method 1 has been increased (see 4.5.3, 2.4.3 of the 2007 edition);
c) The ignition temperature of method 1 has been changed (see 4.5.3, 2.4.3 of the 2007 edition);
d) Added "repeatability" and "reproducibility" requirements (see 4.7, 5.7, 6.7);
e) Changed the intake method of method 2 (see 5.5.3, 3.5.3 of the 2007 edition);
f) Added the determination of available sulfur (see Chapter 6).
Introduction
After the raw ore has been sorted and processed, its main components have been enriched in the concentrate, and at the same time, the secondary components of the ore or other associated metals have also been obtained.
From recovery to recovery, GB/T 7739 "Chemical Analysis Methods of Gold Concentrate" aims to help gold industrial and mining enterprises to accurately understand the main components and impurities of gold concentrate It is beneficial for enterprises to optimize the control parameters of the dressing and smelting process, accurately control the consumption of chemicals, and reduce the concentration and enrichment of impurity elements in gold concentrate ore dressing and smelting.
The interference of the purification process and the improvement of the comprehensive recovery rate of each valuable element can contribute to the efficient recycling and sustainable utilization of comprehensive resources in the entire gold industry.
Provide stronger technical support for the sustainable green and healthy development and the construction of smart mines. GB/T 7739 consists of 13 parts.

4 Method 1 barium sulfate gravimetric method
4.1 Principle
After the sample is semi-melted by the mixed flux of sodium carbonate, zinc oxide and potassium permanganate at 780°C, the soluble matter is dissolved in water, and the sulfur is converted into sulfate radical for further processing. into the solution, and then use barium chloride to precipitate the sulfate radical in the solution. After the precipitate is filtered and burned, it is weighed, and the weight in the sample is calculated according to the mass of barium sulfate. sulfur content. In the tested material, less than 10mg of fluorine does not interfere with the determination.
