Scope
GB/T 20899.10-2025 is the English-translated version of 金矿石化学分析方法 第10部分:锑量的测定.
GB/T 20899.10-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering measuring how much antimony a gold ore carries — the flame atomic absorption method with its nitric and sulfuric acid decomposition, its tartaric and hydrochloric acid extraction and the absorbance read at 217.6 nm, the cerium sulfate titration that covers the higher range, the reagents, sample mass and procedure for each, the repeatability and reproducibility, and the test report. Part 10 of the fourteen-part series. The determination changes from hydride generation atomic fluorescence to flame atomic absorption, and repeatability and reproducibility replace the old allowable difference. It replaces GB/T 20899.10-2007. In force from 1 January 2026. Issued on 30 June 2025, it has been in force since 1 January 2026, replacing GB/T 20899.10-2007.

4.1 Principle
The sample was decomposed by nitric acid and sulfuric acid, extracted by tartaric acid and hydrochloric acid, and analyzed by flame atomic absorption spectrometer in hydrochloric acid medium.
The absorbance of antimony was measured at 217.6 nm using an air-acetylene flame, and the amount of antimony was calculated using the standard curve method.
4.2 Reagents or materials
Unless otherwise stated, only reagents of confirmed analytical grade and distilled or deionized water or water of equivalent purity were used in the tests.
4.2.1 Hydrochloric acid. rho = 1.19 g/mL.
4.2.2 Nitric acid. rho = 1.42 g/mL.
4.2.3 Sulfuric acid. rho = 1.84 g/mL.
4.2.4 Hydrochloric acid. (1 1). 4.2.5 Sulfuric acid. (1 3).
4.2.6 Tartaric acid solution. rho = 100 g/L. Weigh 100 g of tartaric acid solid into a glass beaker, add water to 600 mL, and heat to dissolve until clear.
Clear, cool, and dilute to 1000 mL with water in a volumetric flask for later use.
4.2.7 Hydrochloric acid-tartaric acid solution. Dissolve 5.00 g of tartaric acid in 500 mL of water, add 50 mL of hydrochloric acid (4.2.1), and dilute with water to 1000mL.
4.2.8 Antimony standard stock solution. Weigh 0.5000g of metallic antimony (w >= 99.99%) into a 250mL beaker and add 20mL of sulfuric acid.
(4.2.3), cover with a watch glass, heat until completely dissolved, remove and cool, add 40mL sulfuric acid (4.2.5), shake well, dissolve the salts with slight heat, and cool to room temperature.
