4 Method 1.Non-aqueous titration

4.1 Principle

The sample is burned in an oxygen flow at 1200°C~1250°C, using copper oxide as a co-solvent to convert carbon into carbon dioxide, and hydrogen peroxide and Active manganese dioxide is used as a desulfurizer, thymolphthalein is used as an indicator, and ethanol-ethanolamine-potassium hydroxide solution is used to absorb and titrate carbon dioxide.

4.2 Reagents or materials

Unless otherwise stated, only reagents of confirmed analytical grade and distilled or deionized water or water of equivalent purity were used in the tests.

4.2.1 Calcium carbonate. w >= 99.99%. 4.2.2 Copper oxide. powder. 4.2.3 Anhydrous ethanol.

4.2.4 Sulfuric acid. rho = 1.84 g/mL.

4.2.5 Hydrogen peroxide. phi=30%.

4.2.6 Potassium permanganate-sodium hydroxide solution. Weigh 3.0 g of potassium permanganate and dissolve it in 100 mL of water. Add 10 g of sodium hydroxide and dissolve. Into the gas washing bottle.

4.2.7 Activated manganese dioxide slurry (1000 g/L). Weigh 50 g of activated manganese dioxide powder into a gas washing bottle and add 50 mL of distilled water.

4.2.8 Absorption solution. Potassium hydroxide standard solution [c(KOH)~0.03mol/L]. Dissolve 30mL of ethanolamine in 970mL of anhydrous ethanol.

Add 1.5g potassium hydroxide to the alcohol (4.2.3), and after the potassium hydroxide is completely dissolved, add 150mg thymolphthalein indicator, mix well, filter, and keep
