Scope
GB/T 7739.4-2021 is the English-translated version of 金精矿化学分析方法 第4部分:铜量的测定.
GB/T 7739.4-2021 is the part of the Chinese series on the chemical analysis of gold concentrates that deals with copper. It gives two methods: flame atomic absorption spectrometry, for copper mass fractions from 0.050% to 2.00%, and sodium thiosulfate titration, for 2.00% to 25.00%.
In the first method the sample is dissolved in hydrochloric, nitric and perchloric acids and the absorbance of copper is read at 324.7 nm in an air-acetylene flame.
For each method the document sets out the principle, reagents, sample, test steps, data processing, precision with repeatability and reproducibility, and the test report.
Assay laboratories use it to determine copper in gold concentrates. It replaces GB/T 7739.4-2007, was issued on 21 May 2021 and has applied since 1 December 2021.
