Scope

GB/T 7699-2022 is the English-translated version of 苎麻.

GB/T 7699-2022 is the Chinese national standard for ramie fibre.

It sets out the terms and definitions, the technical requirements, the sampling method, the test methods and the packaging, marking, transport and storage, and defines the defects that decide quality: impurities such as ramie bone, chips and leaves, attached husk, brown tip, red root, and the stains left by wind, disease, insects and mildew.

Its foreword records that the former class A and class B grading was replaced by special, first, second and third grades, assessed from sensory quality, bundle-fibre breaking strength and impurity content, with its "official moisture regain" set at 12.0 % and the highest actual moisture regain at not more than 16.0 %.

It applies to ramie, hand-stripped or machine-stripped. It replaces GB/T 7699-1999, was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 May 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 7699-1999 "Ramie". Compared with GB/T 7699-1999, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main The technical changes are as follows.

--- Change the "technical requirements for classification and classification of ramie" in the scope to "terms and definitions of ramie, technical requirements, sampling methods, test Inspection methods, packaging, marking, transportation and storage", "applicable to ramie production, acquisition, processing and handover inspection" is revised to "applicable to ramie hemp, including hand-stripped ramie, machine-stripped ramie, etc." (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1999 edition);

--- Changed the definition of "impurity" in terms and definitions, added its English counterpart, and added "attached shell", "coke tip", "spot defect" and "red root" Definition of "hemp bone" and its English equivalent (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the 1999 edition);

--- The classification is changed to classification, and "Class A" and "Class B" are changed to "Special Class", "First Class", "Second Class" and "Third Class" (see 4.1, 4.2, 4.1 of the 1999 edition);

---Added "Ramie is divided into first grade, second grade and third grade according to sensory quality, bundle fiber breaking strength and impurity content, and the lowest one is determined.

Grade, below Grade 3 is out of grade", the index "Break Strength of Bundle Fiber" was added, the "Length" index was deleted, and the sensory quality was added. Hemp bone (see 4.3, 4.3 of the 1999 edition);

--- Added "The grades of ramie are comprehensively assessed according to the requirements of Table 1 and Table 2" (see 4.4);

--- Changed "the moisture regain of ramie shall not exceed 16%" to "the official moisture regain of ramie is 12.0%, and the highest actual moisture regain shall not be more than 16.0%" (see 4.5, 4.4 of the 1999 edition);

--- Change "the roots of the hemp bundles of all grades should be aligned with the root and the tail" to "the root of the hemp bundles should be aligned with the tail" (see 4.6, 4.5 of the 1999 edition);

--- Added sampling method (see Chapter 5);

--- Inspection is changed to test method (see Chapter 6, Chapter 5 of the 1999 edition);

--- Changed the sensory quality test method (see 6.1, 5.2 of the 1999 edition);

--- Added the test method for the breaking strength of bundle fibers and combined it with the fiber linear density test (see 6.2, 5.2.6 of the 1999 edition);

--- "Impurity inspection" test method was changed to "impurity rate test" test method, and the test procedure was changed (see 6.3, 1999 edition of 5.2.4);

--- Added provisions for rounding off values (see 6.3.2);

--- Changed the packaging, marking, transportation, storage and other related content, and increased the production date (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the 1999 edition);

--- Changed the appendix "The production and use of standard samples of ramie" (see Appendix A, Appendix A of the 1999 edition);

--- Added appendix "Ramie degumming test method" (see Appendix B).
