Scope
GB/T 7562-2018 is the English-translated version of 商品煤质量 发电煤粉锅炉用煤.
China's national quality standard for coal supplied to pulverised coal boilers for power generation. This is the specification behind the largest single commodity flow in China: the coal that feeds the power stations, moved by dedicated railways and ports in the hundreds of millions of tonnes. What a boiler needs from its coal goes well beyond calorific value. The ash content determines how much inert material is being hauled and handled; the ash's fusion temperature determines whether it will slag on the furnace walls and foul the superheaters, which is the commonest cause of a forced outage; the volatile matter governs flame stability at low load, which now matters constantly because coal plants follow the renewables; the moisture affects the mill; and the sulfur determines the desulfurisation duty. The standard specifies the quality grades and technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transport, storage and use, and does not apply to pithead self-use coal or low calorific value coal-fired plants.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 7562-2010 "Technical Conditions for Coal for Power Generation Pulverized Coal Boiler". This standard is in line with GB/T 7562-2010 The main technical content changes are as follows:
--- The standard name was changed to "commercial coal quality power generation coal powder boiler coal";
--- The scope is modified to the quality grade and technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transportation and use of coal products for power generation pulverized coal boilers. Storage
--- Increased the division of coal products for power generation pulverized coal boilers, classified according to volatile matter, and quality according to calorific value and total sulfur index The classification is expressed in the form of "category calorific level and full sulfur level";
--- Added Appendix A "Product Catalog". This standard was proposed by the China Coal Industry Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Coal Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC42). This standard was drafted. 1 Scope
The standard specifies the quality grades and technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transport, storage and use, and does not apply to pithead self-use coal or low calorific value coal-fired plants.
This standard specifies the quality grade and technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transportation and use of coal products for power generation pulverized coal boilers. Storage. This standard is applicable to coal for power generation pulverized coal boilers used in production, processing, storage, transportation, sales and use. This standard does not apply to coal used in pits for self-use coal and low calorific value coal-fired power plants.
