Scope

GB/T 6931.1-2020 is the English-translated version of 带传动 术语 第1部分:基本术语.

This part of GB/T 6931 defines the general terms of belt transmission, the forms of belt transmission, pulleys, transmission belts and the corresponding parameters.

Clause 1 says it applies to belt drive applications and notes that the terms of special belt drives are in Appendix A and the terms of the main performance of belt drives in Appendix B. The foreword says that GB/T 6931, Glossary of Belt Drive, is divided into three parts, this being Part 1 Basic terminology beside Part 2 on V-belt and V-ribbed belt drive and Part 3 on timing belt drive, and that the part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

The draft prints clause 1 Scope, clause 2 General terms and clause 3 belt drive form, and breaks off at the start of clause 3.

Clause 2 defines belt drive as a transmission formed by the belt and the pulley that transmits motion and or power, with the note that there are two types, friction drive and mesh drive, and then defines flat belt drives, V-belt drives, V-ribbed belt drive, round belt drive and synchronous belt drive; clause 3 opens with endless belt drives, a belt drive by closed belt.

The foreword records that, against the 2008 edition and apart from editorial changes, the normative references were removed, the definitions of the terms belt drive and open transmission were modified, the illustration of the term tensioner and the symbols of the terms center distance and corner angle were changed, and terms and definitions were added for endless belt drive, double-sided transmission, multi-wheel transmission, open belt drive, change in center distance, exposed height, lateral swing, rated power and friction coefficient.

The part was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation and is under the jurisdiction of the National Pulley and Belt Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC428).

It replaces GB/T 6931.1-2008, was issued on 31 March 2020 and has applied since 1 February 2021.

Foreword

GB/T 6931 "Glossary of Belt Drive" is divided into 3 parts.

--- Part 1. Basic terminology;

--- Part 2. V-belt and V-ribbed belt drive;

--- Part 3. Timing belt drive.

This part is Part 1 of GB/T 6931.

This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 6931.1-2008 "Glossary of belt drive Part 1: Basic terminology of belt drive". Compared with GB/T 6931.1-2008, the main technical changes except for editorial changes are as follows.

--- Removed normative references (see Chapter 2 of the 2008 edition);

--- Modified the definition of the term "belt drive" (see 2.1, version 3.1 of 2008);

--- Added the term and definition of "endless belt drive" (see 3.1);

--- Modified the definition of the term "open transmission" (see 3.1.1, 3.2.1 of the 2008 edition);

--- Added the term and definition of "double-sided transmission" (see 3.1.5);

--- Added the term and definition of "multi-wheel transmission" (see 3.1.6);

--- Added the term and definition of "open belt drive" (see 3.2);

--- Modify the illustration of the term "tensioner" (see Figure 10, Figure 7 of the 2008 edition);

--- Modify the symbol of the term "center distance" (see 6.1, 4.1.1 of the 2008 edition);

--- The symbol of the term "corner angle" has been modified (see 6.3, 4.1.3 of the 2008 edition);

--- Added the terms and definitions of "change in center distance" (see 6.4);

--- Added the term and definition of "exposed height" (see 6.5);

--- Added the term and definition of "lateral swing" (see 6.6);

--- Added the term and definition of "rated power" (see 6.12);

--- Added "friction coefficient" terms and definitions (see 6.13).

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 6931 defines the general terms of belt transmission, belt transmission form, pulley, transmission belt and corresponding parameters and other terms and definition. This section applies to belt drive applications.

Note: See Appendix A for terms of special belt drives, and Appendix B for terms of main performance of belt drives.

2 General terms

2.1 Belt drive

The belt and the pulley constitute a transmission that transmits motion and/or power.

Note: There are two types of friction drive and mesh drive.

2.1.1 Flat belt drives

The friction drive is composed of a flat belt and two or more pulleys. The working surface of the belt is in contact with the rim surface of the pulley.

2.1.2 V-belt drives

A friction drive consisting of one or several V-belts and V-belt wheels, the V-belt is installed in the corresponding wheel groove and only contacts the two sides of the wheel groove, and No contact with the bottom of the tank.

2.1.3 V-ribbed belt drive

Friction transmission composed of a multi-ribbed belt and two or more pulleys, at least one of which has a wedge groove, the axis of the pulley and the longitudinal section of the belt The face is vertical.

2.1.4 Round belt drive

Friction drive composed of round belt and pulley.

2.1.5 Synchronous belt drive

The meshing drive composed of a synchronous belt and two or more synchronous belt wheels, the synchronous movement and/or power is meshed with the teeth of the wheels through the belt teeth transfer.

3 Belt drive form

3.1 Endless belt drives

Belt drive by closed belt.
