Scope

GB/T 5643-2008 is the English-translated version of 扩口式过板直通管接头.

GB/T 5643-2008 specifies the dimensions, marking and technical requirements of flared bulkhead unions and their bodies, the straight fittings that carry a tube line through a panel or wall and are clamped to it with a hexagon thin nut.

It applies to piping systems for hydraulic fluid power and general use with tube outside diameters of 4 mm to 34 mm and maximum working pressures of 3.5 MPa to 16 MPa.

Its dimension table covers 15 tube sizes, from M10×1 to M45×2 connection threads, giving bore, overall and body lengths, maximum panel clamping length and hexagon size, with assembled lengths for type A flares on all sizes and type B flares up to 18 mm; the flared ends follow GB/T 5652, the nuts and sleeves GB/T 3763, GB/T 5646, GB/T 5647 and GB/T 5648, and marking and technical requirements GB/T 5653.

It replaces GB/T 5643.1-1985 and GB/T 5643.2-1985, merging the union and the union body into one standard, changing the English title, removing parameters left to the manufacturer, adjusting tolerances to current tolerance and fit standards and moving surface roughness requirements to GB/T 5653.

This standard is one of the series of standards for flared couplings.

This standard is a revision of GB/T 5643.1-1985, Flared couplings - Bulkhead straight coupling, and GB/T 5643.2-1985, Flared couplings - Bulkhead straight coupling body. The main changes are as follows:

- the contents of the two standards have been merged;

- the English title has been changed;

- some parameters that should be controlled by the manufacturer have been removed;

- some tolerances have been adjusted in accordance with the current standards on tolerances and fits;

- the surface roughness indications have been removed; the surface roughness requirements are given in GB/T 5653, Technical specifications for flared couplings.

From the date of its implementation, this standard replaces GB/T 5643.1-1985 and GB/T 5643.2-1985.

This standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Pipeline Accessories.
