Introduction

Non-metallic minerals are the material basis for the survival and development of human society, and together with energy minerals, metal minerals, water and gas minerals, they constitute the The non-metallic mineral industry mainly includes non-metallic mineral exploration, mining and dressing, and non-metallic mineral processing and products industry, which plays a vital role in China's economy.

It is an important basic industry for the development of China's national economy and society.

Metal ores and their products have many superior and unique physical and chemical properties that are different from other minerals. They are not only widely used in construction, In the fields of building materials, metallurgy, petroleum, chemical industry, light industry, agriculture, and in the fields of new generation information technology, aerospace, nuclear energy, military industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, etc.

It plays a role in strategic emerging industries and high-tech industries such as construction, marine engineering, new energy, new materials, biomedicine, and environmental protection and governance.

It plays an irreplaceable and important role in the new round of scientific and technological revolution and the development of emerging industries.

GB/T 5463 aims to standardize the terms and definitions of non-metallic mineral products in general and for each mineral type.

The definition is intended to consist of several parts.

— Part 1: General terms and definitions. The purpose is to define the general terms of non-metallic mineral products, as well as the physical and chemical properties, processing Terms and definitions related to the processing and common use of non-metallic minerals and their products.

— Part 2: Talc. The purpose is to define the main terms and definitions of talc ore, talc composition and properties, and talc products.

— Part 3: Gypsum. The purpose is to define the main terms and definitions of gypsum ore, gypsum composition and properties, and gypsum products.

— Part 4: Graphite. The purpose is to define the main terms and definitions of graphite ores, graphite composition and properties, and graphite products.

— Part 5: Attapulgite. The purpose is to define the attapulgite ore, attapulgite composition and properties, and the main Terms and definitions.
