Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 5183-2005 "Forklift Fork Dimensions". Compared with GB/T 5183-2005, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes. Aside from the modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:

---The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2005 edition);

---Added "Terms and Definitions" (see Chapter 3);

---The preferred values for fork width and thickness have been changed (see 4.1,

3.1 in the.2005 version);

---Added a preferred value for fork length (see 4.1);

---Changed "Other detailed dimensions" to "Installation dimensions" and modified its specification (see 4.3,

1 Scope

GB/T 5183-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the dimensions of forklift forks - the hook spacing and thickness classes that make a fork from any maker fit any carriage of the same class, which is what lets attachments be swapped at all. It replaces GB/T 5183-2005. It was issued on 31 December 2025 and has been in force since 1 July 2026, replacing GB/T 5183-2005. The document is under the responsibility of the China Machinery Industry Federation. This document specifies recommended dimensions for the width, thickness, and length of solid cross-section forks, as well as their mounting dimensions. This document applies to solid cross-section forks with various mounting types, including hook type, bushing type, and bolt connection type.
