This document specifies the safety requirements and/or risk reduction measures for shot blasting equipment, as well as usage information, and describes the corresponding verification methods. This document outlines the procedures for using shot blasting equipment for its intended purpose and for use under conditions of misuse that the manufacturer could reasonably foresee. Major hazards associated with this type of equipment, and examples of hazardous conditions or incidents (see Appendix A). This document applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of shot blasting equipment. Note

2.This document does not cover specific hazards associated with the movement of mobile shot blasting equipment (such as shot blasting machines designed to operate in different locations). This document does not apply to workpiece loading and unloading systems and ventilation and dust removal systems.
