Apocynum venetum is an important natural fiber resource in my country, showing broad application prospects in textiles, clothing, medicine and health care. GB/T 46953 "Apocynum venetum" is a fundamental standard guiding the production, acquisition, processing, and trade of Apocynum venetum in my country, aiming to regulate the production, acquisition, processing, and trade of Apocynum venetum. The technical requirements, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, transportation and storage are proposed to consist of the following two parts.

1.Raw Hemp. The purpose is to specify the technical requirements, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, transportation, and storage of raw Apocynum venetum (Rhizoma Apocynum). This document describes the corresponding experimental methods to facilitate the production and sale of raw Apocynum venetum in my country.

2.Refined Hemp. The purpose is to specify the technical requirements, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, transportation, and storage of refined hemp from Apocynum venetum. 1 Scope

GB/T 46953.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering raw apocynum fibre - the bast fibre of a desert shrub that grows on saline land unusable for anything else, harvested in Xinjiang and spun into textiles. It fixes the grades, the requirements, the sampling and the tests. Part 1 of the series, first edition, with Part 2 on the degummed fibre. It was issued on 31 December 2025 and has been in force since 1 July 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the Standardization Administration of China. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Apocynum venetum (rawbluishdogbane) Apocynum venetum bast fiber used as a textile raw material.

4 Technical Requirements
