Introduction

This document specifies the safety technology of design, manufacturing, inspection, operation and maintenance of metal portable tanks for road transport of liquid dangerous goods.

Requirements. In order to implement the "Measures for the Safety Management of Road Transport of Dangerous Goods" (Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Ecology and Environment Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Emergency Management and State Administration for Market Regulation Order No. 29 of 2019) to strengthen the safety management of dangerous goods road transport and provide technical support Technical support.

1 Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, materials, design, manufacturing and performance requirements for metal portable tanks for road transport of liquid dangerous goods.

It also describes the requirements for labels, signs, identification, use and maintenance, and the relevant test methods.

This document is applicable to road transport tanks made of steel materials for the carriage of Class 3 to Class 6, Class 8 and Class 9 liquid dangerous goods.

Note 1.The metal portable tanks for road transport of liquid dangerous goods (hereinafter referred to as "tanks") described in this document include three types. UN portable tanks (Type A), road transport tank container (Type B) and road transport tank exchange box (Type C).

Note 2.Type A tanks in this document do not include small tanks without frame structures that are transported inside general purpose containers.

Note 3.Tanks that only meet Type B or Type C can only be used for road transport.

Note 4.Tanks can meet both Type A and Type B, or both Type A and Type C.
