GB/T 45570-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the gyroscope that measures rotation from the Sagnac effect rather than from a spinning mass — the split between ring laser and fibre optic types, the performance parameters and the test methods for them, and the environmental requirements from damp heat and salt spray to low pressure, total ionizing dose and thermal vacuum, because an instrument for aerospace, aviation and shipbuilding has to hold its bias through all of it. The typical performance figures for laser and fibre optic products, and the environmental adaptability figures, are given in informative appendices. First edition, in force from 1 August 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 August 2025.

1 Scope

This document specifies the product classification, technical requirements, marking, packaging, storage and transportation requirements of optical gyroscopes. Appropriate test method.

This document applies to optical gyroscopes (referred to as gyroscopes) used in aerospace (including commercial aerospace), aviation, and shipbuilding.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Sagnac effect

The effect of optical path difference between two coherent light waves propagating in opposite directions along a closed optical path due to the rotation of the optical path.

3.2 Optical gyroscope

A gyroscope that works using the Sagnac effect of light.

3.3 Laser gyroscope

A method for measuring angular velocity or angle relative to inertial space based on the Sagnac effect and composed of a ring laser resonator. device.
