1 Scope

GB/T 45274-2025 is the Chinese standard for sensory integration training products for children: the swings, balance boards, scooter boards, tunnels, therapy balls and suspended equipment used in occupational therapy and, increasingly, in ordinary childcare and home use. The category grew fast in China and was largely unregulated, which is the reason for the standard: these products suspend or accelerate a child, and the failure modes are falls, entrapment and suspension. The document sets the classification, the general requirements covering materials and their harmlessness, the structural safety requirements including the strength and stability of the supporting structure and the suspension, the requirements on edges, points, gaps, entrapment and cords, the load bearing and fatigue requirements, the labelling and instructions, and the corresponding test methods and inspection rules. For a manufacturer, an importer or a therapy centre buying such equipment in China, this is the text a product is judged against.

This document specifies the technical requirements, labeling and instructions for use of sensory training products for infants and children, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document is suitable for vestibular training, proprioception training, tactile training, auditory integration training, and visual integration training for infants under 12 years old. A comprehensive training product that is a combination of training and several of the above training types. This document does not apply to baby carriages, household swings, slides and similar indoor and outdoor activity toys, trampolines, sports equipment, outdoor sensory training Training products and products for special needs such as medical use and rehabilitation.
