Scope

GB/T 44851.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 道路车辆 液化天然气(LNG)燃气系统部件 第1部分:一般要求和定义.

GB/T 44851.1-2025 is Part 1 of GB/T 44851 and specifies the general requirements and the definitions for the components of liquefied natural gas fuel systems on road vehicles, covering, in the words of clause 1, general requirements, electrical equipment and wiring, instructions and the logo.

Clause 1 applies the document to liquefied natural gas vehicle fuel system components that comply with GB/T 3730.1 and does not apply to five things, gas cylinders, stationary gas engines, container fixing parts, the electronic fuel control system and the filling port; components it does not cover are to be implemented by reference to it and given the corresponding functional tests.

Clause 1 also treats every pressure in the document as a gauge pressure unless otherwise specified and sets the working pressure of the natural gas used as fuel at 1.6 MPa, to be adjusted by an appropriate factor for other systems, so that a system with an operating pressure of 2 MPa requires the pressure to be multiplied by 1.25.

The table of contents gives seven clauses, 1 Scope, 2 Normative references, 3 Terms and definitions, 4 General requirements, 5 Electrical equipment and wiring, 6 Instructions and 7 Logo, followed by informative Appendix A on the degree of conformity between GB/T 44851 (all parts) and ISO 12614 (all parts), informative Appendix B on the principles and component functions of liquefied natural gas vehicle gas systems, and a list of references.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 44851 (all parts), ISO 15500 (all parts) and ISO 19642 (all parts).

Of clause 3 the draft prints only the first definition, burst pressure, the static pressure that causes component failure and leakage and the maximum pressure during the burst test, and then the heading of 3.2, engine control unit, whose definition is cut off, so nothing after 3.2 is shown; the foreword does record that the term boost and pressure regulating valve and its definition were added at 3.27.

The foreword and the introduction present this part as the one that fixes the terminology and the technical requirements of the system components inside a series the introduction describes as consisting of 16 parts, listed from Part 1 General requirements and definitions through to Part 18 Gas temperature sensors, and they record a modified adoption of ISO 12614-1:2021 in which GB/T 44851 (all parts) was put in place of ISO 12614 (all parts) at 4.4 to 4.6 and 4.8 and ISO 19642 (all parts) in place of the abolished ISO 6722 (all parts) at 5.2.

It is a national recommended standard under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Automotive Standardization (SAC/TC114), was issued on 2025-08-29 and has applied since 2026-03-01.
