GB/T 44664-2024 sets the levels and examination requirements for piano within the Chinese social art grading system. Tens of millions of Chinese children take graded piano examinations, and the certificates carry weight in school admissions and in the family's sense of progress, but the grades have been issued by many different bodies whose level eight has meant very different things; the standard exists to make a grade comparable across examining bodies. It sets the requirements on the examining institutions and on the examiners, the level setting with its basic requirements and range of levels, the examination content for the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, and the examination requirements, covering the basic requirements and the quality of execution expected at each level. It takes effect on 1 January 2025.

1 Scope
GB/T 44664-2024 sets the levels and examination requirements for piano within the Chinese social art grading system.
