Scope

GB/T 44105-2024 is the English-translated version of 网球课程学生运动能力测评规范.

GB/T 44105-2024 is the Chinese national standard for evaluating a student's athletic ability in a tennis course, part of the Ministry of Education's family of school sport assessment standards. Tennis has grown quickly in Chinese schools and universities, and it is a sport where a beginner spends a long time unable to sustain a rally, which makes progression hard to assess without a defined ladder of measurable tasks. The standard sets a six-grade classification with the attainment requirements for each level, and then the assessment for each grade in turn, with the test items, the court and equipment, the procedure and the scoring, running from the racket handling, feeding and basic groundstrokes of the lower grades through the serve, volley and directional control to the tactical and match play requirements of the highest. Because the criteria are national, grades are comparable across schools. It took effect on 28 May 2024.
