Scope

GB/T 44096-2024 is the English-translated version of 田径课程学生运动能力测评规范.

GB/T 44096-2024 is the Chinese national standard for evaluating a student's athletic ability in a track and field course, the athletics member of the family of school sport assessment standards issued by the Ministry of Education. Track and field is the base of the Chinese physical education curriculum and the one course almost every student takes, which makes a consistent national scale for it more consequential than for any other sport. The standard sets a six-grade scheme with the attainment requirements for each grade across primary, junior secondary, senior secondary and university levels, and then gives the evaluation for each grade in turn, some forty pages of test items covering the running, jumping and throwing events together with the physical qualities that underlie them, each with its setup, procedure, measurement and scoring. Because the tests are prescribed rather than merely described, and because the attainment tables are national, a grade certified in one school carries the same meaning anywhere in the country. It applies to the evaluation of track and field ability of students at every school and university level.
