Scope

GB/T 43310-2023 is the English-translated version of 玻璃纤维及原料化学元素的测定 电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法(ICP-OES).

GB/T 43310-2023 is the Chinese national inductively coupled plasma optical emission method for the chemical elements of glass fibre and raw materials, covering glass fibre, fibre glass, their raw and batch materials, mineral wool and its raw materials, and other glass and mineral raw materials of similar composition.

The sample is decomposed with mixed acid or alkali and excited in the plasma, and element and oxide mass fractions follow from characteristic line intensities compared with standard solutions.

Separate clauses handle the determination of 36 elements, of boron, of arsenic, antimony and cerium, of sulfur and phosphorus, and of silicon where the silicon mass fraction is less than 1%, plus the test report; the normative Appendix A holds the standard stock solutions. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 June 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document describes a method for the determination of chemical elements in glass fibers and raw materials by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry.

This document is applicable to the measurement of chemical elements of various types of glass fiber, fiber glass and its raw materials and batch materials, and various types of mineral wool and its raw materials.

It is also suitable for the determination of chemical elements of other glass and mineral raw materials with similar chemical element composition.

2 Normative reference documents

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, the dated quotations For undated referenced documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated referenced documents, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and definitions

There are no terms or definitions to be defined in this document.

4 Principles

After the sample is decomposed with mixed acid or alkali to form a solution, it is excited in an inductively coupled plasma torch to emit the characteristic spectrum of the elements contained.

Line, based on the comparison of the intensity of the element's characteristic spectral line with the spectral line intensity of the standard solution, the mass fraction of the chemical element and its oxide is obtained.

5 General rules

5.1 Reagents and water

The reagents used should be superior grade pure or better than excellent grade pure. The reagents used to prepare the standard stock solution should be benchmark reagents or the mass fraction should not be lower than 99.99%. The water used shall not be lower than the first-grade water requirements in GB/T 6682.

5.2 Parallel samples

No less than 2.

5.3 Blank solution

Except that no sample is added, other steps are the same as the sample processing steps.
