3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Standard hard water standard water

Water containing soluble calcium and magnesium compounds at specified concentrations.

3.2 Total hardness

The total mass concentration of calcium and magnesium compounds contained in standard hard water (calculated as calcium carbonate).

Note: The unit is milligrams per liter (mg/L).

4 Technical requirements

4.1 Appearance

Colorless, clear and transparent liquid, no visible suspended matter or sediment.

4.2 Technical indicators

Standard hard water should meet the requirements of Table 1.
