3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 4099-2005 apply to this document.
3.1 Overboard survey equipment
The survey equipment deployed from the marine survey ship to the ship's overboard for operation.
3.2 Cable investigation equipment
Survey equipment connected by cables on marine survey vessels.
Note: Cable investigation equipment is divided into fixed-point investigation equipment and towed investigation equipment according to the operation mode.
3.3 Fixed-point survey equipment
Wired survey equipment that requires the ship to be in a relatively fixed geographical position.
3.4 Towed survey equipment
When the ship maintains a certain course and speed, the cable survey equipment is operated by towing.
3.5 Cable-free survey equipment
Outboard survey equipment that operates without being connected to a vessel by a cable.
3.6 Stop swinging
When deploying, recovering, and transferring equipment, operators use ropes to control and reduce the swing range of the hoisted equipment.
