GB/T 42390-2023 is the English-translated version of 快递包装分类与代码.
GB/T 42390-2023 is the Chinese national classification and code list for express-delivery packaging.
It sets the classification principles, the coding method and the codes themselves, arranged in six groups - express envelopes, express packing boxes, express packaging bags, containers, packing fillers and packaging aids - and it defines each item by the material and the process it is made from: cardboard printed, die-cut and glued for envelopes, cardboard creased and formed for boxes, resin extruded, blown, drawn and sealed for bags, and woven synthetic or natural fibre for reusable container bags.
Clause 1 states that it applies to the statistics, processing and exchange of information on express packaging through production, procurement, use, recovery and recycling.
Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 4122.4-2010 and GB/T 39084-2020. Issued on 17 March 2023, it has applied since 1 October 2023.

3 Terms and Definitions

3.1 Express packaging
