Scope
GB/T 41742-2022 is the English-translated version of 光电器件用低温封接玻璃.
GB/T 41742-2022 covers low temperature sealing glass for optoelectronic devices, and applies to the glass itself, to glass powder and to prefabricated parts. It sets the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the packaging, marking, transport and storage.
It defines sealing glass as a glass material that joins devices or materials closely by heating and welding, and it also defines the sealing temperature, the sealing density measured after sintering, and the sealing strength of the bond to the sealed device or material; a note puts the sealing temperature for this family usually below 600 °C. Clause 2 cites GB/T 2828.1, GB/T 5432, GB/T 6005, GB/T 16920, GB/T 21389, GB/T 31541 and JJG 1036. It was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 May 2023.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Sealing glass
A glass material that achieves close connection between devices or materials by heating and welding.
3.2 Sealing temperature
The heating temperature corresponding to the optimal bonding state between the sealing glass and the sealed device or material.
Note: The sealing temperature is generally the temperature corresponding to the glass viscosity of 10^5 dPa·s ~ 10^6 dPa·s.
3.3 Low temperature sealing glass
Glass that meets the requirements for low temperature sealing of optoelectronic devices.
Note: The sealing temperature is usually lower than 600°C.
3.4 Sealing density
Glass density after sintering according to the sealing process.
3.5 Sealing strength
The bonding strength between the sealing glass and the sealed device or material after sintering according to the sealing process.
