Scope
GB/T 41637-2022 is the English-translated version of 发制品 通用技术规范.
GB/T 41637-2022 is the general technical specification for hair products, that is for items made mainly from human hair, chemical fibres and other hair. It sets the requirements for such products, the test methods and the inspection rules, and it defines the colour fastness to rubbing of a hair product, dry and wet rubbing being distinguished.
The test methods it refers to are those of the textile standards it cites, which cover free and hydrolysed formaldehyde, the pH of the water extract, colour fastness to rubbing, to perspiration and to water, banned azo dyes, heavy metals, carcinogenic and sensitising disperse dyes, 4-aminoazobenzene and brominated and phosphorus flame retardants.
It applies to hair products of all kinds, but not to those for infants and children. It was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

This document specifies the requirements, test methods and inspection rules for hair products.
This document applies to all kinds of hair products, not to infants and children's hair products.

3 Terms and Definitions
