1 Scope

This chapter of GB 4706.1-2005 is replaced by the following.

This document deals with the safety of domestic and similar service robots for indoor use with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V.

Note 101.For other functions such as audio/video, the relevant requirements of other standards may apply.

For Type 3 domestic mobile robot and its charging base, appendix BB and appendix CC give additional requirements.

For domestic and similar service robots, this document gives the common safety problems caused by the application of robot technology.

Regulation. The safety problems caused by the design function of the appliance itself shall be specified in the special requirements of the GB 4706 series of standards. It also

--- Electric hand-held tools, mobile tools and lawn and garden machinery (GB/T 3883, IEC 61029);

--- Appliances designed for use in corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, vapour or gas);

--- Road vehicles with a speed of more than 25km/h.
