Scope
GB/T 41040-2021 is the English-translated version of 宇航用商业现货（COTS）半导体器件 质量保证要求.
GB/T 41040-2021 sets the quality assurance requirements for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) semiconductor devices used in aerospace, which generally include discrete devices, monolithic and hybrid integrated circuits and optoelectronic devices.
Its basic requirements concern the quality assurance unit and its personnel, equipment, device protection, environment, test validity, failure analysis, the control of counterfeit and refurbished parts, information databases and the re-inspection of overdue stock.

1 Scope
This document specifies the quality assurance requirements for aerospace commercial off-the-shelf semiconductor devices (hereinafter referred to as COTS devices).
Specific requirements and application controls for COTS device requirements analysis, evaluation tests, destructive physical analysis (DPA), screening tests, and qualification tests require.
This document applies to the quality assurance of COTS devices for aerospace.
This document does not apply to the management and control of the production process and quality system of COTS device suppliers.

3 Terms, Definitions and Abbreviations
3.1 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 19000-2016 and the following apply to this document.
3.1.1 Commercial off-the-shelf
Off-the-shelf products that are not designed and manufactured in accordance with aerospace or military standards, and are not subject to government procurement restrictions, using commercially mature technologies.
Note 1. COTS is used as an adjective in this document, referring to "commercial off-the-shelf".
Note 2. Commercial off-the-shelf semiconductor devices generally include discrete devices, monolithic integrated circuits, hybrid integrated circuits, optoelectronic devices, etc.
3.1.2 Quality assurance
To deal with the possible risks of COTS devices for aerospace applications, and to provide them with trusted activities that can meet the use of aerospace missions.
